Join our crew!
The trail crew is on summer break. Our next scheduled event will be on Saturday, September 27th, 2025 (National Public Lands Day).
To receive notice of restoration events following the Palisades Fire, and other upcoming trail projects, subscribe to our mailing list and select ‘Saturday trail work schedule’ and/or ‘Monday-Friday volunteer activities’ as your mail preferences, along with any other topics that interest you.
Our work since the 1980’s has included building new trails and maintaining them, pruning back vegetation, repairing eroded trail tread, correcting water drainage problems, installing bridges and other structures, removing invasive non-native plant species, fire repairs, storm repairs, and so much more.
No experience is necessary to participate in trail work with us—complete training and guidance will be given. We provide the tools. Folks are free to come and go from the crew as their availability allows.
The crew works on Saturday mornings from late September thru June, generally meeting at 8:30 am and returning to the trailhead by 1:30 pm. We also schedule weekday events, on occasion.
Trail crew projects are inherently susceptible to late revisions or cancellation, and we need to be able to reach you if anything changes. For this reason, with the exception of special events we typically do not confirm project details until just a few days prior, and exclusively via the mailing list.
Participants on Sierra Club outings will sign a liability waiver, plus any volunteer documents that may required by the park agency, at the trailhead before the event begins. Not all projects are suitable for younger volunteers, so please refer to our trail crew policy for minors.
Contact the Volunteer Coordinator with any questions.
